Slim Chance Seen for Agreement on Indo-China as Geneva Meet Reopen
GENEVA, Switzerland — The Geneva conference went into third week today with the chances slim of agreement on Indo-China and the United States warning it will build new defensive alliance Asia if they are needed to stop further Communist aggression.
Western diplomats said the Communists could show willingness begin serious bargaining for Indo-China peace by dropping their proposal that unrecognized rebel regimes of Laos and Cambodia participate in the talks.
The diplomats expressed hope that the Communists would come up with a reasonable counteroffer to France's three-part blueprint for an armistice when the talks resume.
The blueprint, presented by French Foreign Minister Georges Bidault Saturday, called for a cease-fire in Viet Nam, withdrawal of Communist troops from Laos and recently invaded Cambodia and a guarantee of the armistice by the nine negotiating nations.
The Communists, elated over their success in capturing Dien Bien Phu, were expected to insist tions have been heightened elation that ex-mayor Norman ler, a Newport Beach city man, is an owner of Horton sonal stock. Robert Wilson ber of the Costa Mesa p commission, is also a stock.
The SEC injunction was on April 23.

The blueprint, presented by French Foreign Minister Georges Bidault Saturday, called for a cease-fire in Viet Nam, withdrawal of Communist troops from Laos and recently invaded Cambodia and a guarantee of the armistice by the nine negotiating nations.
The Communists, elated over their success in capturing Dien Bien Phu, were expected to insist on seating rebel Laotian and Cambodian delegations.
U.S. Undersecretary of State Walter Bedell Smith, head of the American delegation, warned that the U.S. delegation came to Geneva specifically "to prevent the spread of Communism" and would build defensive alliances to guarantee Asia against further aggression if the Communists prevent an honorable peace for Indochina.
"We shall be compelled to build more alliances for defensive security only if there is a continuing menace to our national safety and to the safety of all the nations whose interests are bound together with ours in common objectives of peace and freedom," Smith declared.

Polley Withdraws From AUHS Race

Iffable compromise of the benefactor.
The citizens of the community of Anaheim have every reason to take a dim view of the present board's sense of values. Recent performance indicates strongly that the board has allowed itself to slide into a state of lethargy and tolerance toward controversial subjects — subjects of a subversive nature — sex instruction in its most blase form — subjects to which no clearthinking school official would ever expose the highly impressionable minds of high school youth.
Ask yourself this question — if the brilliant minds of such American-born men as Alger Hiss and Whittaker Chambers could not resist the Communist doctrine then by what stretch of the imagination can we presume upon the thought processes of school children?
In originally filing my name as a candidate for one of the vacancies on the Anaheim Union High School board, my pledged constituents and I felt so strongly on the conditions at the high school, that no amount of personal sacrifice could have deterred my decision to serve the people of this community in an effort to return the direction of high school affairs to the people who are being so heavily taxed for its support.
My decision to withdraw from the race was motivated entirely in the cause of victory for two other candidates in whom I have explicit faith and confidence.
Al Holve and Rex Coons both pass the acid test of honesty, integrity, and intelligence so essential to the successful administration of the affairs of our most precious asset—our children.
For the immediate and future safety of our children and our com
munity will you please join me at the polls a week from next Friday and cast your vote for these two excellent candidates—AL HOLVE and REX COONS.
Respectfully,
Jack Polley"
Polley's action left incumbant Arthur Shipkey and Richard Henning in the race with Holve and Coons for the two vacant trustee posts.

In its injunction suit the Federal Agency, which policies stock sales, sought to restrain the Horton Aircraft corporation from "further violating the registration and anti-traud proviso provisions" in selling common stock in the corporation.
Miller became interested in the company last March when he flew to Washington, D.C. with the company's secretary, Armond Hanson of Santa Ana, to explore possibilities of Government orders for the plane. His previous Washington experience was sought on the trip in order to "facilitate contacts."
