California to Share In Huge Highway Grant
SAN FRANCISCO (UP)—California's 47 million dollar annual share of President Eisenhower's federal aid program provides a 55 per cent increase in allocations to speed up the state's highway construction programs, the California State Automobile Association announced today.
Association President Harold J. McCurry said particularly noteworthy in the program is "the 700 per cent increase in authorization for the nationwide interstate highway system."
"The actual amount for California's 1900 miles of this system is $9,750,000," McCurry said, "representing an increase of 840 per cent or considerably more than the nationwide average."
California's portion is increased 27 per cent in the other three categories of federal aid. The state's primary highways will receive $14,460,000 a year under the program, secondary highways $7,-450,000, and urban streets and highways $15,340,000.
Fire Insurance Rates Drop on Some Buildings
SAN FRANCISCO (UP)—Fire insurance rates on certain California business church school and hospital buildings have been reduced 10 to 25 per cent according to the Pacific Fire Rating Bureau.
The reductions which will result in premium savings of $2,750,000 annually became effective Saturday. They apply to buildings containing such businesses as banks garages offices and service stations.
Also affected are frame schools fireproof hotels brick and frame print shop and newspapers frame retail and wholesale store buildings and contests of brick and frame retail and wholesale stores except food-handling risks restaurants.

Butterworth Home From Island Trip
Frank Butterworth, one of a team of 15 Methodist ministers from the west-coast who haveicipated in a preaching mission of 18 days in Hawaii, will return to his pulpit this Sunday.
His experiences with missionary personnel on the islands included one week in Honolulu conducting a religious emphasis week at the Methodist Student Center, teaching in the School of Religion at the University of Hawaii, preaching at Barber Point Naval Air Station and nightly visitation evangelism in Palolo Valley.
The work on the team resulted in 324 decisions for Christ in the Chinese, Korean, Japanese groups.
The second week of work was spent on the island of Hawaii in rural plantation church work. In this experience the ministers were housed and entertained in rural homes and learned of the cultural background and living conditions that do not meet the tourist's eye. Other ministers from Orange county on the team were the Rev. Alec Nichols and Byron Deshler of Santa Ana.
The services at White Temple church Sunday will honor mothers with special music by the choirs and the sacrament of baptism being observed. The sermon topic will be "No Price Too Great."

'Adam and Fallen Man'
Christian Science Topic for This Sunday
"As by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." This declaration of Paul to the Romans is the golden text of the Christian Science services Sunday.
The lesson-sermon entitled "Adam and Fallen Man" points out that as a child of God man is free from the bondage of false material laws.
Jesus proved this freedom when he said to the palsied man, "Son, of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven hee." "But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins," he commanded, "Arise, take up they bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house."
Mary Baker Eddy writes in 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,' "When speaking of God's children, not the children of men, Jesus said, 'The kingdom of God is within you'; that is, Truth and Love reign in the real man, showing that man in God's image is unfallen and eternal. Jesus held in Science the perfect man who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals"
