Women carrie louutherland – editor Sunday Afternoon Reception Honors Given Newly-Weds, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Calaway More than 200 relatives and friends extended their congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Calaway, niece Teddy Lou Payne at the Capilla de San Antonio Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. For this lovely homecoming affair Mrs. Calaway wore her wedding gown of Chantilly lace and nylon net over satin, her bouquet a delicate pink nosegay. Her finger-tip veil was held to her hair with a halo head-piece. Wed at Salt Lake Mr. and Mrs. Calaway were married at the Mormon temple at Salt Lake City, Utah. Mrs. Calaway is a native of Anaheim, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Payne of 419 South Dickel St. Anaheim and is a graduate of local elementary and high schools. She attended Pullerton Junior college and received her degree from Whittier college. Presently she is a member of the faculty at Whittier Oceanview school. Her husband, also a native of California, is a graduate of local schools and Pullerton Junior college. He later attended Whittier and is now in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Calaway of 9081 Harding Ave., West Anaheim. What Mothers Wore Recieving the guests with the newly-weds were their parents with Mrs. Payne charming in her gown of changeable blue - green taffeta. Black velvet accessories accented her gown and she wore an exquisite orchid as her corsage. Mrs. Calaway chose a grey dress for the reception affair, her accessories in black and her corsage also an orchid. the bride's favorite colors, pink and white. Reception Hostesses Reception hostesses were Mrs. Zoe Ann Richardson and Mrs. Ruth McMillan, former collegiate of the bride and later roommates during their first year of teaching. Mrs. Norma Tews Walkley, friend of the bride from Anaheim school days, attended the guest book with Mrs. Nan Moore, friend of the Payne family for many years, attending to gifts. Assisting in junior host duties was Master Jimmy Payne, young brother of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Calaway are making their first home at 508 East Franklin Ave. Whittier.
