75 FUHS Students Sparkle in Pleiad Society With High Scholastic Record for Last Term
Slightly more than four per cent of students at Fullerton Union High School are members of the 1953 fall-term Pleiad Society, scholastic honor group, whose membership can qualify only by hard work: three A's and a B, not counting physical education, for the previous semester.
Total Pleiad membership at present is 75, compared with 67 last year at this time. This figure does not include freshmen for either the fall term of 1953 or 1952, since freshmen were not in school the previous semester to qualify.
This year's 4.2 per cent, based on senior, Junior, and sophomore enrollment, compares almost identically with 4.2 at the same time last year when fewer students were enrolled.
Leading the Pleiad group this year are seniors with 32. The same class, junior last year at this time, led at that time with 24.
Second in numbers this year is the sophomore class with 27, although the sophomores were second last year (now juniors).
Third group this year in number of Pleads is the junior class with 16.
In the second semester last school year, spring of 1953, all classes were represented among Pleads, including freshmen, with 99 members listed. Numbers according to classes were 33 freshmen, 26 seniors, 24 juniors, and 16 sophomores.
Current Plead list is as follows:
Charles Barlow, Richard Barnes,
Judy Bauerlein, Norma Beck, AniLinda Cano, Pat Childs,
Mary Ann Church, and Pat Clabaugh.
Also Margie Clark, Linda Conkling, Dorothy Currul, Juana Dalton, Kaye Del Giorgio, Ann DeWitt, Susan Evans, Jean Fergus, Jerry Gaines, Mildred Garlitz, Dorlye Godding, Elaine Godding, Pat Goss, and Greg Guth.
More Pleads are George Hagn, Marlene Hesser, Penny Hineman, Tommy Irwin, Don Jacobson, Leta Jolly, Linda Keel., Alice Kinletz Ruth Kriesant, Linda Kroeger, Grace Lindow, and Gail Lucas.
