NEW YORK (UP)—A fairly long earthquake centered about 100 miles from New York was recorded on Fordham University camographs last night. The Rev. Joseph Lynch said rocks were recorded at 11:43:23 and 11:52:51 p.m. EST. He estimated intensity at six on a scale of 10. Another Lynch said the quake is centered either northwest of New York, which would place it in the area of the Aleutians, or northwest, in Central Europe.
