Singer Ella Mae Morse Gets Divorce Decree RENO (UP)—Ella Mae Morse, Capitol recording artist famous for her "Cow Cow Boogle," has been granted a divorce decree from Marvin Gerber of Bethesda, Md., in Reno District Court. Gerber did not contest the action. A sealed agreement was filed detailing settlement of property and custody of three minor children. The couple was married Dec. 6, 1946, in Chelsea, Mass. Cancer Group Awards Three Research Grants SAN FRANCISCO (UP)—Meford R. Runyon, national executive vice-president of the American Cancer Society, announces his organization has granted $124,020 for research to three California universities. Runyon said yesterday $7,000 has been granted to the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco; $24,915 to Stanford and $24,105 to the University of Southern California. THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Anaheim finds: (a) That the proceedings for the annexation to the City of Anaheim of the hereafter inhabited territory had in conformity with and pursuant to the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of California known as the "ANNEXATION ACT OF 1813" (TITLE IV, Division 2, Part 3, Chapter 1. Articles 1 to 4 inclusive, of the district Council of California all acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto. (b) That before any proceedings were commenced for the annexation of said territory, the proponents of said annexation filed a written request with the City Council to admit the consent of the City Council to the commencement of proceedings for the annexation of said inhabited territory, more particularly hereinafter described, to the City of Anaheim: That the City Council did thereupon refuse to ratify a resolution requesting the City Planning Commission. That on the 14th day of April, 1958, the City Council did receive from the City Planning Commission its recommendation approving the proposed annexation of said territory to said City of Anaheim. That on the 15th day of April, 1952, after the receipt of the recommendation of the City Planning Commission, the City Council gave its consent to the commencement of said proceedings for the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim. (c) That the proposal for the annexation of the hereinafter described territory to the City Anaheim has been submitted to the County Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California, for a report to the proponents with their intention and certainty of the proposed boundary; That the report of the Boundary Commission was made within Twenty (20) days after said proposal for annexation was submitted to it. (d) That said proponents did on the 25th day of April, 1952, publish a Notice of Intention to Circulate a Petition relating to the Annexation of said Territory to the City Anaheim, a Municipal Corporation, and on the 25th day of April, 1952, said proponents did file with the City Anaheim a copy of the said Notice of Intention to Circulate a Petition for an advanceance and reports received from said petition, that a time of the filing and present of said petition that said new territory proposed as being sold City of Anaheim did not partake corporation and that said petition, inhabited terrace and was contiguous to the City Anaheim.
