Avocado Culture Class to Be Taught at FJC Evening Ch
An interesting and educational program has been arranged for adults registering for the Avocado Culture class at Fullerton Evening Junior college, announced John N.
Reid, principal this week.
The class, starting October 12, will meet one evening a week, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The first hour is to be devoted to lectures and slides, the second to discussions and questions. Practical demos will be given wherever possible; factors in choice of lecture include history and application; factors in choice of methods of establishing a nursery practices and propagation.

Carter Barrett, avocado rancher of La Habra vicinity, will instruct the class for the third year. He is a recognized authority on avocado culture and besides his work in the industry in California, has acted as a consulting expert in the same field in Mexico.

It's that time again!
Once again the call has gone out from members of Stanton Lady Lions for goods to be sold at their annual rummage sale. Event is this year slated for Sept. 24, 25 and 26 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Location is Lions clubhouse on Chestnut Street, Santon.
A refreshment table will also be featured in addition to rummage articles, it was reported.

Box 213, Atwood, are the proud parents of a baby girl born Sept. 2 at St. Joseph Hospital, Orange. The young lady weighed in at 6 pounds, 8½ ounces.
It looked like a convention to moving vans on Ruby Drive this past week when a change of residence was made by three families. Supervisor and Mrs. Ralph McFadden moved from 129 Ruby Drive into their new ranch home on Placentia Avenue. The G. W. Stayner family moved from 125 Ruby Drive into the McFadden house which they purchased some time ago, and Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Rigdon and daughter, Judy Ann, moved into the Stayner residence at 125 Ruby Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Rigdon moved from Santa Ana 'insmusm' as they are the new managers of the F. & G. Furniture Company on Santa Fe Avenue. Welcome to our Ruby Drive family, "Abe", Daisy and Judy Ann!
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Yanes announce the birth of a daughter, 6 pounds, 5 ounces, Sept. 2 at the Orange County General hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Jordan and daughters, Joyce and Patty, of Ruby Drive, spent the Labor Day week-end at the Wallop summer home in Idyllwild. Mr. and Mrs. Wallop also had as their guest Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chiles.
Mrs. Harold Farmer is visiting with her mother in Fort Scott, Kan. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Day in Pittsburgh, Kan., and other friends in Missouri. She is expected home around the 15th of this month.

Fern Elliott, William Haberer Wed in Cypress Nazarene Church
The Church of the Nazarene was the recent scene of the marriage of Miss Fern Elliott and William Haberer.
The nuptial vows were repeated by the couple in the presence of members of the family and friends, with The Rev. William Howard, pastor of the church officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Elliott of Artedia, who were residents of Cypress until about a year ago when they moved and Mrs. Ray Chiles.

The Church of the Nazarene was the recent scene of the marriage of Miss Fern Elliott and William Haberer.
The nuptial vows were repeated by the couple in the presence of members of the family and friends, with The Rev. William Howard, pastor of the church officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Elliott of Artesia, who were residents of Cypress until about a year ago when they moved to their present location. She is also a graduate of the Cypress Elementary school.
The new Mrs. Haberer was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding she chose a formal length gown of pastel green. Her sister, Gladys, who served as maid of honor, wore a gown of contrasting pink. Glenn Baker served as best man.
A reception for the family and friends followed in the home of the bride's parents. Those present were Mrs. Haberer, and the brother-in-law and sister of the bridegroom; the grandparents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davee of Bellflower; Mrs. Geritt Zwarta and two daughters, and Jane Chapman of Cypress.
