Prices declined in all sections. Trading picked up moderately from the recent slow pace, but Wall Street pointed out the commission take wasn't sufficient to pay the rent. Railroads featured the downturn. Rock Island was the weak rail with particular pressure exerted on it near closing time. This drop in the carrier issues in the face of high earnings unsettled the whole market. A new weak spot developed. Schenley Industries, which met its most severe selling near the end of the session. The issue hit a new low and brought other liquors down with it. Studebaker broke to a new low on a tutback in its operations and dragged other motors down with it. Oils lost yesterday's gains and much more. The industry is retrenching its operations because of high inventories. Losses in the oils ranged to 2 points in the high priced issues. Metals were hard hit in the copper and aluminum sections. Produce Market LOS ANGELES (UP)—Produce: Peaches: Per lb Beaumont rio oso gems 30-36s 12 cents.
