Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd A. Burrow
956 S. Los Angeles St., left today for El Paso, Tex., where they will attend the wedding of their son Lloyd A. Burrows, Jr., and Mr. Anne Frances Shamaley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shamaley. The wedding will be held Saturday morning, Sept. 12, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in El Paso.
The bridegroom's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Cox (Lyla Burrows) and the infant son, are planning to fly from their home in Los Angeles to Paso on Friday.
There will be many other friends of the young couple going from Southern California, including Paula Lieb and Bernard Eickholt of Anheim who will serve as best man and usher for the wedding.
The entire wedding party will be entertained at dinner on Thursday evening, Sept. 17, at which time the wedding rehearsal will be held.

BURGERS ARE FINE FOR QUICK SUFFER
Hamburgers are fine to serve for a quick supper. Thick or thin, plain or fancy, they're year-round favorites with nearby everyone.
Broil, grill or bake hamburgers. And change their seasonings to suit your whim.
Serve the hamburgers with a choice of trimmings — catfish, mustard, pickles, onions, etc. — and let each person dress up his burger to his own liking.
SAUCOY BURGERS
2 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
3 or 4 burger buns
Combine ground beef and seasonings. Shape into 6 or 8 patties about 1 in. thick. Place patties on broiler grid and place broiler pan so top of meat is about 3 in. from tip of full broiler flame.
Broil patties to 9 min. on each side, depending on doneness desired.
Serve 'burgers on toasted split bun topped with Burger Sauce.
BURGER SAUCE
1 C. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. butter
2 can's Chicken Gumbo or Cream of Mushroom soup
3 C. catsup
4 Tbsp. prepared mustard Salt to taste
Saute onion m butter until golden brown. Add remaining ingredients and simmer over low flame 5 min.

2 tsp. prepared mustard
2 tsp. horseradish
2 Tbsp. minced onion
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. catsup
Combine all ingredients. Shape into 4 patties and broil or fry to desired doneness. Serve on lightly toasted hamburger buns and pass a selection of suitable garnishes.
BAKED RELISH BURGERS
1½ lbs. ground beef
1½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
½ C. sweet pickle relish
Silced mushrooms Butter
Mix ground beef with seasonings and pickle relish. Shape into 4 or 6 patties. Place patties on a rack in a shallow baking pan. Top with sliced mushrooms and dot with butter. Bake at 350° for about 25 min.
SOUR CREAM BURGERS
1½ C. soft bread crumbs
½ C. milk
1 C. "commercial" sour cream
1½ lbs. ground beef
1½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. minced onion Paprika
Put bread crumbs into a bowl. Stir in milk and let stand until milk is absorbed. Add half C. of the sour cream, meat, seasonings and onion. Mix lightly, but thoroughly. Shape into 6 patties about 1 in. thick. Broil till nicely browned or first side. Turn and broil second side. (Top of meat should be about 3 in. from broiler flame. Allow 5 to 9 min. for each side.) Spoop remaining cream on patties and sprinkle with paprika. Return to broiler for a minute to heat cream.
Morris Coffin Joins Anaheim Conservatory
Morris Coffin, well known violist of radio and television fame, will join the staff of the Anaheim Conservatory of Music it was announced this morning by Mr Anna Siegel, director. Mr. Coffin is particularly well known in Los Angeles and Riverside where he has developed may fine professional musicians.
During the summer months, has played at the Hollywood Bowl and the Redlands Bowl, and with the Minneapolis symphony.
Mr. Coffin will give three auctions tomorrow at the conservatory for the students of the late Vladimir Lenski and all others interested in good music. Beginning on Wednesday of the following week, Sept 16, he will begin his teaching.
Anaheim Students Enroll at S.A.J.C.
Typical of the many Anaheim students enrolling at Santa Ana College are the Wells brothers Gary and Clinton, 9202 Katella Roe both of whom plan to follow industrial arts careers.
Gary is a sophomore and is fishing up his vocational program of body-fender-and-welding ephasis, and now adding science and other complementary courses.
Gary is training to be an industrial arts teacher while the younger Clinton has the goal of aviation or industrial engines. He is building his course around gas and diesel engines.
The sons of Mr. and Mrs. Eveett S. Wells are drilling with the Don football team each evening until the team moves to the campus practice field for afternoon sessions later this week. Gary plays in the backfield and also letter in baseball at Anaheim Union High School, graduating in 1951, but does not play with the Dons while in college last year. He is a candidate for quarterback.
Clinton was a guard on the Collegiate varsity and at 185 pounds of weighs his older brother by pounds.

Mrs. Joe Thompson Is New President Of Church Women
Mrs. Joe Thompson of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, was installed as president of Anaheim Council of Church Women at their recent breakfast meeting at the Bethel Baptist church. Mrs. Arthur M. Stevenson was installing officer, using the ceremony suggested by the National Council of Church Women. Mrs. Arthur Korn, Evangelical U. B. church, and Mrs. Page Vincent, First Presbyterian church, were installed vice presidents. Mrs. W. E. Bowen, of Bethel Baptist church, is the new secretary, and Mrs.' E. L. Anderson, of the Nazarene church, will continue as treasurer.
Mrs. Chester Ferris presided over the meetings, extending greetings to the 200 gathered for their annual meeting. The breakfast tables were decorated with asters and greenery. The Rev. Chester Ferris led the morning devotional period after the group had joined in singing a hymn.
Little Pamela Stockwell sang with her mother, Mrs. Darwin Stockwell in the musical program which followed. They were accompanied by Mrs. Alexander McCandless. Mrs. Benjamin Klaumann played a violin duet with Pamela, and an encore. Mrs. Klaumann gave two beautiful violin solos. She was accompanied by Mrs. Darwin Stockwell.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman V. Salaets, 214 W. Broadway, have returned from a two weeks tour ofNational parks. They visited Zion,Bryce, Rocky Mountain, Mesa Verda and the Grand Canyon Na-Mrs. Salaets, formerly Ruth Swan-son, teaches piano in Anaheim.

Red Cross Nurses Aid at Blood Donor Marathon
Four Orange County Red Cross nurses were among the 30 volunteer nurses who took part in the first on record in Southern California twenty-four hour blood donation marathon "run" at the Lockheed Aircraft Plant, Burbank, held recently it was reopted today by Mrs. Romona Whetley, R.N., Fulleron, who is the Orange County chairman of assignment of Red Cross volunteer nurses to blood-mobiles. To qualify for this special Red Cross volunteer service, a graduate nurse must complete a twenty hour training course on bloodmobile technique, Mrs. Wheatley explained. Other nurses besides Mrs. Wheatley who worked on the Lockheed marathon were Mrs. Bella Miller, R.N., Huntington Beach, Mrs. Vallarie Clark, R.N., Balboa, and Mrs. Katherine Johnson, R.N., Balboa.
The quota of 1,200 pints were exceeded by 73 pints, and twenty-five donors were turned away after all the bottles were filled, Mrs. Wheatley said.
The work of the volunteer nurses in the blood program according to the Regional Blood Center, is saving many hundreds of dollars in operating expenses each month, and on this particular mobile at Lockheed, the saving was over $500.00.

Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell, 508 S. Illinois St., are announcing the birth of a son, Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bircher, with their daughter, Barbara and Virginia, and Mrs. Bircher's mother, Mrs. Wells, returned today from a holiday at Big Bear.
Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Servantes, 1405 W. Broadway, are parents of a daughter, born Sunday at the Santa Ana Community hospital.
Word has been received in Anaheim of the death of Ernest H. Elsner of Burbank, who was for several years director of the choir at the Evangelical United Brethen church of Anaheim. Interment will follow services tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Recessional, Forest Lawn.

Presbyterian Choirs Will Rehearse This Week
Mrs. George Sloop, Minister of Music at the First Presbyterian Church, Anaheim, announced this morning the fall schedule of rehearsals for the church choirs, beginning tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 when the Crusader (7-8 grade) choir will meet at the church.
The choirs will begin their fall program with the church service Sunday, Sept. 12, to welcome the new pastor of the church, the Rev. Roland Anderson, who will preside at the worship service at that date.
The Chapel (high school) choir will practice at 6:45 Thursday evening, followed by the Chancel (adult) choir at 7:30.
The Choirister (5-8 grades) and the Cloister (fourth grade) choirs will meet at 3:30 Friday.

PORT WORTH, Tex. — Bobby Jenkins, 9, got shot for doing a good deed. Spotting a trash fire back of the apartment house where he lives, he picked up a handful of dirt and tossed it on the flames to keep them from spreading to a back fence. The dirt contained a live bullet that exploded. The slug hit the boy on the side of the head.
