MRS. DONALD CALAWAY (Teddy Lou Payne) was one of the summer's loveliest brides yesterday at Salt Lake City, Utah. Calaway of 9681 South Harding, West Anaheim has been told to hosts of friends of the two families today. Only witnesses to the marriage ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Warren Mackay, friends of the bride and bridegroom from Anaheim, their parents were unable to attend the wedding. Wedding Reception Oct. 11 Plans are being made for a wedding reception at the Capilla de San Antonio on Oct. 11, when the bridegroom will have leave from duties at Camp Roberts where he is presently stationed. Teddy Lou chose a beautifully designed gown for her wedding. It was created from lovely imported Chantilly lace over satin with fitted bodice having a tiny Peter Pan collar detail at the high neckline. The full skirt fell into a small sweep at the back and her sheer illusion veil was held to her hair with a small Juliet cap matching the lace of her gown. Stipence In Slipper In her wedding slipper she placed a judy sixpence and for some-thing blue" wore a garter borrowed from a college roommate. Before leaving for their wedding trip the young couple, with Mr. and Mrs. Mackay enjoyed a wedding dinner given by Mrs. L. E. Jensen. For traveling the bride wore a smartly tailored fall gray suit, her accessories in black and the corsage from her bridal flowers pinned to the lapel of her jacket. Bride's Background She is a native of Anaheim and throughout her grade and high school days was very active in campus clubs and was a four-year member of the Girl Reserves, now the Tri-Hi-Y club. Her popularity continued through Fullerton Junior college where she brought glory to Anaheim students when elected Turkey Day queen, one of the coveted honors for FJC coeds. As a student at Whittier, she again took active part in campus and was affiliated with the Palmer Society. She has been teaching at Oceanview School. Whittier this past year and plans to continue her profession. Bridegroom in The Army Her bridegroom, also an alumnus of Anaheim Union High school where he participated in many of the campus events and served one term as student body president, attended Fullerton Junior college for one year and studied its mission work of his church before entering the U.S. Army for two years. Color slides will be Red Cross Call for Blood Rallys Anaheim 190 loyal citizens answered the call of the local chapter of the American Red Cross last Friday afternoon at the Ebell Club house, when the Mobile unit visited Anaheim. The blood made available for Orange County's hospitals and our varied and urgent needs was increased by 185 pints of whole blood. 20 pints were given to the Hemophilisc Foundation. Many donors made their contribution for a friend or relative who has previously received Red Cross blood. Mrs. Ben Kaulbars Blood Program Chairman in charge of the Mobile visit stated the figure of 185 pints was the largest made in the month of August in Anaheim since the end of World War 2. Mr. Clyde Cromar Blood Recruitment Chairman for the Anaheim Chapter thanked all those who supported the blood bank, and said "I hope that our citizens will not lose sight of the fact that 185 donors represent only 1 per cent of Anaheim's population, for it we are to meet all demands for blood or our civilian sick, for our veleans in hospitals, the urgencies for our civilian sick, for our vetesans in hospitals, the urgencies for hemophela and Pollo. Carole Steele is Bride of Leslie Faulkner In Formal Wedding Service Saturday Miss Carole Steele, daughter of Mrs. Cecil E. Todd of Buena Park and Leslie Houston Faulkner, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Faulkner, 54 W. Chestnut St., were married August 29 in an impressive 8 o'clock services at the Capilla de San Antonio. Dr. Hugh Tiner, president of Pepperdine college, officiated. The bride wore a lovely gown of white pleated tulle over taffeta, with a strapless bodice and bolero of chantilly lace. A dainty bonnet of pleated tulle held a shoulder length veil with pleated tulle edging. She wore her mother's pearls and carried a bouquet of white carnations and tube roses surrounding a white orchid. She was given in marriage by her brother, Thomas Steele of Kansas City. The bride was attended by Mrs. John Gulino (Pat Bryant) as matron of honor. She wore a gown of green taffeta with fitted bodice and bouffant skirt, and a bonnet to match her dress. She carried white carnations tied with satin ribbons. The bridesmaids wore gowns of the same design with matching satin ribbons in their bouquets. They wore Mrs. Jackie Hatfield Houston of Balboa, wearing champagne rose, and Mrs. Barbara Sinclair Ford of San Francisco in rose. Ronald Faulkner, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The usher were Don Liebhart of Saran Ana and Richard Alvord of San Diego. Kenneth Akin of Santa Ana was solist, singing "With This Rink" "Kiss Me Again," and the "Lor Prayer." He was accompanied by Mrs. A.F. Faust who also played well known strains of the wedding march. The chapel was lovely with white flowers throughout, and white blossoms characterizing the reception in the garden. The bride was a pedestal cake topped with brass and bridegroom. She was assist at the reception by Mrs. Barbie Gautsche with the guest book and Miss Martine Brown at the purpowl. Civilian Defense Program Topic of B'nai B'rith Civilian defense information will be given by Mrs. Henry Klipstein, civilian defense chairman of the Orange county B'nai B'rith women at the joint meeting of the men and women of the Orange County B'nai B'rith chapters on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The program will be held at 9:30 in the Beth Sholom Temple, 5th and Bush Sts., Santa Ana, after the regular business meetings of the two groups; it was announced today by Mrs. Charles Canetti, president of the local chapter. Mrs. Klipstein represented the Orange County B'nai B'rith Women at the Southern California Women's conference on civil defense held recently at Pepperdine College in Los Angeles and she will be attending that conference. Both bride and bridegroom are graduates of Anaheim Union High School. Since her graduation, the bride has been employed at the Seaboard Finance company in Anaheim. She expects to continue her work with that company in San Diego. Mr. Faulkner attended Santa Ana Junior College and was graduated from Pepperdine College last June where he majored in business administration. He played with the basketball varsity squad in Anaheim high school and at Pepperdine and has played with the Denver basketball league this summer. Mrs. Klipstein represented the Orange County B'nai Brith Women at the Southern California Women's conference on civil defense held recently at Pepperdine College in Los Angeles and she will bring a report of that conference. Lt. Col Edw J McCabe, co-ordinator of Santa Ana Civil Defense and Disaster Organization will present films as part of the program, "Fire Fighting for Householders" and "Target U.S.A." The program is open to the public.
