DAWES PLAN ONLY SALVATION NOW
BERLIN, June 6.—Acceptance of the Dawes reparation plan means not only the salvation of Germany but a relaxation of political tension through the world, Foreign Secretary Gustav Stresemann told the reichstag in a ringing speech this afternoon.
In urging acceptance of the Dawes plan, Stresennann declared it would save the Rhineland "from anarchy and chaos."
The fate of the Marx cabinet was hanging in the balance when the reichstag met.
It was expected that the government could be saved from defeat only by the government parties introducing a “qualified” vote of approval.
“LET’S GO” FAST MOVING PICTURE
“Let's Go,” starring Richard Talmadge, which will open at United Theater tonight and continue tomorrow, can easily be termed the fastest-moving picture of the season. The star assuredly covers more ground than any other one in motion picture. Richard Talmadge has an extremely pleasing personality, one that will register with everyone who views this picture, and he performs stunts which for the thrilling quality cannot be compared with anything else that the screen offers. Nonchalantly he steps from the sill of a third-story window and lands in an auto ride the curb below; he dashes along on a motorcycle and takes a flying leap on it through a postboard; not satisfied with this jump from a vladict onto a moving freight train at a height of at least 50 feet; then 100 feet above the street level he takes a flying leap from house to house across an opening 20 feet, to say nothing of leaps and from moving buses, on and off, towering hawsms and a thrilling jump from a moving freight train.
starring with Lila Lee and James Kirkwood in "Wandering Husbands" will pass thru Anaheim Saturday and stop at the local Piggy Wiggly Store at 12 o'clock noon Saturday, on her way to the opening of the new Piggy Wiggly Store at Orange and demonstrate how to shop the Piggy Wiggly way. The Orange store is the 32nd in this chain operated from the Los Angeles office.
Miss Livingston will drive from Los Angeles with the Piggy Wiggly officials on Saturday morning. She is very prominent in motion pictures, playing leads and heavies for five years. Among the pictures in which she has appeared are: "Lying Lips," "Robin, son Crune," "Social Buccaneer," "The Leather Punthers," "Water, Water Everywhere," "House of a Thousand Candles," "Colorado Plucks," "Loves Whiripool."
Miss Livingston is famous as one of the most beautiful girls in pictures. She has suburn hair, which photographs black, and appearing dark eyes. The majority of her roles on the silver sheet have been vamp parts.
Piggy Wiggly opened their Anabeim Store, Saturday, May 18th.

INSURGENTS LOSE
BELGRADE, June 6.—Albanian insurgents have defeated the government forces in a six hour battle near Tirana, the capital, according to a report from Sutari today.
Communication with Tirana has been cut off.
The Albanian government is said to be concentrating ten thousand troops in the Elbassan area for operations against the southern insurgents, meanwhile attempting to open negotiations with the northern rebels.

Curt Galloway, “One of the 400” offers a hundred laughs in 14 minutes and that’s that.
A clever comedy, “Hold Everything,” and the first episode of the new Pathe Serial, “The Leatherstocking,” conclude a very desirable program.

COMPTON FIELD WELL OUTLINED
The general outline of the productive area of the Dominguez (Compton) field seems to be pretty well defined. This last week the General Petroleum Corporation suspended operations on the Austin well drilled to 5492 feet and will await field developments justifying resumption of drilling. The Union Oil Co., Gardena Land Syndicate well has passed the 6400-foot mark and has not found anything that looks like oil. The Chase Oil Co., at 5100, the Davis-Macmillan Oil Co., at 5385, and the Julian Petroleum Corporation's Pico well, at 4861, have suspended operations and will lie idle until something is found that looks like it will make the southwestern section of the Dominguesz field an oil field.
The Rosecrans area north of the Dominguesz field is rapidly taking on the appearance of an oil field. Leasing is still at fever heat, the major part of the efforts being put on the formation of community leases for the Howard townsite section of the Athens field. Conspicuous in the leadership of the community lease work are the agents of George Fe Getty. Getty is making a big effort to get together the small property holders of the Howard Townsite and conserve the oil lands and make a little money both for himself and the land owners. If Getty succeeds he will have performed a real and lasting service for the oil industry.

CONSTANTINOPLE, June 6.
An agreement to put an end to hostilities between French and Turks on the Syrian frontier has been reached by General Billotte, the French commander, and the Turkish governor, it was learned today. The agreement assures security and order. The trouble arose over the Turks' resentment against the French mandate authorities and their refusal to pay taxes.
